Yoga Styles

At its core, yoga is an ancient practice rooted in mindfulness, movement, and breath. Over time, it has evolved into many different forms, each offering its own unique approach and benefits. Some styles focus on building strength and flexibility, others prioritize deep relaxation, and some dive into the spiritual and meditative aspects of the practice.

Joga sama w sobie to starożytna praktyka oparta na uważności, ruchu i oddechu. Z biegiem czasu przybrała wiele form, z których każda oferuje własne, unikalne podejście i korzyści. Niektóre style koncentrują się na budowaniu siły i elastyczności, inne kładą nacisk na głęboki relaks, a jeszcze inne zgłębiają duchowe i medytacyjne aspekty praktyki.

Physical + Modern

These are the most common in gyms and studios:

  • Hatha Yoga
A gentle, slower-paced style that is great for beginners. Focuses on basic postures and breathing.
  • Vinyasa Yoga
A dynamic style where poses flow together with breath, also called “flow yoga.”
  • Ashtanga Yoga
A structured, physically demanding sequence of poses done in the same order every time.
  • Power Yoga
A more intense, fitness-based version of yoga inspired by Ashtanga.
  • Bikram Yoga
Practiced in a heated room. Hot Yoga follows a fixed sequence of 26 poses.
  • Iyengar Yoga
Focuses on precise alignment and often uses props like blocks and straps.

Gentle + Restorative

Best for relaxation, recovery, or stress relief:

  • Yin Yoga
Slow-paced, with long-held poses targeting deep connective tissues.
  • Restorative Yoga
Very relaxing, uses props to fully support the body in restful poses.

Meditative + Spiritual

These emphasize mental clarity and inner awareness:

  • Kundalini Yoga
Combines movement, breath, chanting, and meditation to awaken energy.
  • Raja Yoga
Focuses on meditation and mental discipline and is often associated with classical yoga philosophy.

Specialized + Hybrid

These combine yoga with other disciplines or adapt it to specific needs:

  • Aerial Yoga
Uses a suspended fabric hammock to support poses.
  • Acro Yoga
Combines yoga with acrobatics and partner work.
  • Prenatal Yoga
    Designed specifically for pregnant individuals.
